Lost wax casting in sterling silver and bronze.

Lost wax casting involves the melting of precious and semi-precious metal and pouring it into a plaster mold. This is achieved by encasing a piece of wax art inside of a plaster mold. Once the plaster has set the wax is burned out in an oven until it is completely gone. Once the wax is burned out of the mold there is a hollow cavity inside that matches the wax piece. That cavity is then filled with the molten metal, creating a near perfect copy of your original. After it is removed from the mold it is then cleaned, polished, and finished.

While it is called the ‘lost wax’ casting method, other materials can be used including 3D prints and some organic materials, such as pine cones.

There are 4 main factors that determine the cost of your casting; what type of metal, how many pieces, the size of flask, and how much it weighs.

*Please be aware these prices are for a casting, not a finished piece.
